This week I started looking at geeky wedding rings and fell over the stunning space inspired creations.

Here are my favourites, but I am sure there are many more out there (let me know on my Facebook page!)

Moon Crater Wedding Rings in Sterling Silver

Moon Crater Wedding Rings in Sterling Silver

His and hers (or hers and hers / his and his) sets of very affordable and beautifully made wedding rings that are pitted like the surface of the Moon. Made to order in California, each ring is unique to the wearer (he says in the marketing copy that “each ring is just as unique as your love”, but that made me gag a little!)

9. Moon Ring, Crescent Moon Sun and Stars Wedding Set

Another set, but this time they are both for a Bride, so this covers the engagement and the wedding. This set will set you back around £2,000 (plus shipping) so this has to be true love (between you and the ring!)

Available here

8. Meteorite Wedding Band

There are several meteorite rings in my list, they scream space science and exploration, so I discovered a lot of them. This is one of my favourites, due to its simplicity and pure beauty.

7. Inspired by The Nights Sky

Described as an engagement ring, this piece is inspired by nights looking up at the stars. This ring holds a cabachon cut oval grey star sapphire, which resembles a cloudy night’s sky with a four pointed star that moves across the stone where the light hits it as the wearer moves.

Planets Ring

This ring has the 8 planets of the Solar System (not the Universe, as is stated in the marketing copy – pedantic hour!) on it. It is simple and, with the exclusion of Pluto, correct (damn you Neil deGrasse Tyson!) Available here

Lunar Landscape Rings

These are a custom order and bring amazing accuracy to the geek universe, that they had to be included in the list! The rings are a scale version of the moon’s South Central Highlands (craters Ptolomaeus to Clavius, roughly).  Found here

Cool Meteorite Platinum Ring

Johan from Minnesota makes some of the most amazing meteorite rings you can buy today. Currently he has 282 meteorite rings for sale on Etsy (just some of the 1813 products listed), so there are a lot to choose from. I loved this one, as it is so different, with the meteorite looking like it is breaking out of the platinum. Available here

3.
Meteorite Ring with Sterling Silver

Containing a Campo del Cielo meteorite, this is an iron meteorites from an area situated on the border between the provinces of Chaco and Santiago del Estero, 1,000 kilometers (620 mi) northwest of Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Cratered Meteorite Ring

Handcrafted in the UK by Ian Barrett, this is a simple and affordable piece, if you are looking for something special that will not break the bank. The meteorite used is from a famous fall in China called Nantan, that fell in the year 1516.

18k Gold - Nine Planets Ring

This for me is still the ring I would kill to own. It really was love at first sight and you know that when a piece gets so much media attention, it has its own Facebook page dedicated to just one design, it is popular with more than just myself. At $4280.00, it is an “investment piece”, but, in my mind, worth every penny (you even get to keep Pluto!)
