The National Space Centre has pledged to reduce all carbon emissions by 2030. Over the past three years the charity has cut our carbon footprint by over 50%.

Our fully comprehensive event service eliminates the need to bring in external suppliers and reduces further travel.  

Local sourcing

We understand that the shorter the distance food travels, the better it tastes and the more positive impact it has on the environment. That's why we make every effort to source ingredients locally. We align our purchases with the seasons and design our menus around this. Our menus features local culinary options that are exclusive to Leicester, such as the Melton Mowbray pork pie, Sparkenhow Red Leicester cheese, Belvoir Cordial, and Swithland Water.

Committed to minimising waste

Waste management system: We set up clearly marked recycling, and waste bins throughout the venue. Educate attendees and staff about the importance of proper waste disposal and recycling. We have partnered with a waste management company to process our food waste from events. This is taken away and processed through an Anaerobic Digestor and through the process produces a renewable energy source and fertiliser. We offer reusable items such as glassware, cutlery, plates, and cloth napkins instead of disposable options.
