The National Space Centre Charity

The National Space Centre Charity (No. 1078832) has a mission to get people excited about space and help develop the next generation of scientists and engineers.

This is at the core of everything we do, but as a not-for-profit charity in receipt of no funding, there are daily challenges to make this happen.

Since opening its doors in 2001, the Centre has continued to develop educational content and curate a world class artefact collection thanks to support from our visitors.

Buying tickets to the Centre supports our charitable objectives, but there are other ways to work with us:

IGNITE!

In 2019 the National Space Centre launched its community engagement programme that supports wards within the City that have significant financial and educational barriers in place.

The IGNITE programme gives companies and individuals the ability to make a real difference to young people and families living in these local communities.

The money from the IGNITE sponsors will provide a Community Engagement Officer to work with groups, both at the Centre and in the communities, to inspire and engage the next generation of scientists and engineers.
